‘We Left. As Did LOTS of the Crowd’: Fans Shame Miranda Lambert for Her Behavior at Montana Festival – What Happened?

Miranda Lambert is catching heat for her behavior at a recent music festival. Many fans are disappointed and say they’ve lost interest in her. It’s not the first time her actions on stage have upset people.

Country music star Miranda Lambert is facing backlash for how she behaved at the Montana Festival. A video shared by an attendee on July 14 shows Lambert reprimanding the crowd during her performance, which caused a lot of people to leave.

Accompanying the footage with text that reads, “Miranda reprimands crowd at Under The Big Sky in Montana,” the video shows the artist addressing the crowd. Lambert, who donned a cowboy hat and denim dress with tassels, was unafraid to give the audience a piece of her mind.

Lambert highlighted the fact that the crowd’s attention was not on her. Speaking with her southern twang, she asserted, “I can see your head is not turned the right way, which is this way,” pointing to herself as she said the last phrase.

Cheers could be heard from some fans who reacted to the star’s obvious annoyance. Lambert goes on to say, “So, if you came to visit, you can do it somewhere else.”

Addressing concertgoers who were eager to be there, Lambert stated, “If you came to sing and hear some country music and drink some beer … then we’re doing that tonight.”

Chastising the crowd further, Lambert asked, “Are we clear?” while raising her hands. She then pointed to specific people in the crowd and asked if they were done being dramatic, indicating that there must have been a slight scuffle among some individuals.

“Fighting is not ok. And it’s always the girls. We get crazy!” Lambert exclaimed with a chuckle. Shifting the mood completely, she then raises a cup to toast with the audience.

“Cheers, everybody. I’m gonna wait it out,” she said while raising the cup in the air with her right hand before taking a sip from the straw that was inside. Upon realizing that her cup was empty, Lambert turned to her stage crew members and shook the cup, gesturing that she wanted a refill.

“Mine’s empty,” she mentioned before someone swiftly came to take the cup from her and replace it with a new one. “This looks like a good time for a drink y’all!” shouted the “Somethin’ Bad” artist with her arms stretched out.

Underneath the post, the TikToker who shared the video online captioned, “Thoughts?  #mirandalambert #underthebigsky #whitefishmontana #countrymusic.” Many online observers took to the comment section to discuss what happened.

“We left. As did LOTS of the crowd,” revealed someone who had been in the audience when Lambert said her piece. Another social media user criticized, “This is terrible,” while someone else stated, “I stopped liking Miranda for this exact reason.”

“This has always been her. I remember it from her county fair days. [Never] paid to see her again,” another user chimed in.

A TikToker remarked, “Miranda, [you’re] okay at best. Not amazing. Please respect your fans more. They made you what you are. Without them you’d be some nobody working at Dairy Queen. Respectfully, just shut up and sing.”

However, while the majority did not agree with what Lambert did and thought her actions were distasteful, some felt differently. “Honestly she was amazing. We were right up front and loved every second of it,” praised another concertgoer.

Similarly, an admirer gushed, “ I LOVE her. Always have. Has been a huge influence for me. She is just brutally honest. Something so many of us lack. Honesty!”

Lambert has long been honest about how she feels, especially when it comes to her performances. The fuss she caused at the Montana Festival is not the first time the “Wranglers” singer has reprimanded her fans.

While performing her hit song “Tin Man” at a past concert in Las Vegas, Lambert stopped the show to address the audience. She was upset by a group of women who were taking selfies during her performance.

A few bars into the track, she stopped singing and asked her band to stop playing. Pointing to the ladies, Miranda Lambert expressed, “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song, and it’s pissed me off a little bit.”

Showcasing her exasperation further, Lambert reiterated how much she did not like what they were doing amid loud cheering from the audience. Echoing what she said recently, Lambert made it clear that concertgoers should be focused on the reason why they were there – to hear some country music.

Using her hands, she then motioned for the women to put their phones down and pay attention to her. “Shall we start again?” she asked before the pianist started the song over. As she began singing again, some people got up and left.

One concertgoer could even be heard saying, “Let’s go, c’mon. You don’t do that to fans.” Another said, “Ok. Bye!” A social media user who shared footage of the concert drama last year (2023) layered the words “She Mad,” over the video. “Miranda said My Show,” they penned in their caption.

Agreeing with the aforementioned sentiments, more social media users commented on the situation. “Yikes this was completely out of line and awkward. She’s not a teacher here ,” noted a TikToker.

Another echoed, “Omg… and then imagine how they felt after this???” “The people leaving right after she did it lmaoooo that was great!” commended someone else. Lastly, a Swiftie added, “Taylor Swift would never .”
