Official: FBI Announces Identity Of Donald Trump’s Assassin

The incident involving the former President has generated significant controversy and debate.

Former US President Donald Trump was discharged from the hospital after a failed assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania

Mr. Donald Trump was rushed off the stage by Secret Service agents after gunshots rang out close to his head. Currently, one person has been killed, and two others are receiving treatment following the incident.

The shooter was identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania. The assailant was fatally shot by law enforcement at the campaign event.

Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park, a town about 90km south of the shooting location in Butler, Pennsylvania, was killed after firing multiple shots from the roof of a building overlooking the protest site.

The shooter did not have any identification on him at the time of the attack. Investigators took several hours to confirm his identity.

A press conference on the shooting was held by the US authorities. Kevin Rojek, the FBI’s top agent in Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner, said they could not or would not comment on the actions of the Secret Service.

Immediate questions arose, including how the gunman was able to access the rooftop, obtain a long rifle, observe the event where Trump was speaking, and manage to fire so many shots, killing one person and seriously injuring two others.

Rojek called the gunman’s ability to fire those shots before being killed “surprising.”

As a former President, Donald Trump is protected by the Secret Service for life, and he will continue to receive protection as a potential Republican presidential candidate.
